Military cluelessness in general

Long, but thorough post from a while back I just discovered here.

  1. Good post, although the writer overshoots:

"He also reported on the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and said it is "mounted on the back of a Bradley tank." Bradleys aren't tanks, of course, and the MLRS launcher is about twice as big as a Bradley IFV (they are HUGE)."

It's a lengthened Bradley chassis, but still a Bradley chassis.

Ironic, because a few days ago I [civilian frat boy I am] won a $10 bet with a former frat brother in Navy intelligence over the Huey origins of the SuperCobra. Boy, was he embarrassed, "Cutler knows more than Navy intel, we're f*cked."

  2. Actually, I'll check that.

He's good when he talks about general ignorance, but when he starts talking about weapon systems, he overshoots a number of times.

I have been surfing the net for awhile and it feels as if I am trying to find a needle in a haystack to get answers. It has been a relief to find your blog. I particularly enjoyed your most recent post.

Wishing you the best of luck,
