While America Slept: Van Jones is out.
Dateline, AP. 2:06 AM on a sunday, eastern time, on labor day weekend. Likely after the print deadlines for the sunday papers, at least on the east coast.
So it's not a matter of news delay. The most transparent administration in history didn't even announce it until sometime after midnight.

I guess we could say it's a conspiracy to keep it a secret from my grandpa who doesn't use the internet or watch TV...but how many times do we hear about the '24 hour news cycle'?
(2am release didn't drown Ted Kennedy's death out... (ba-dum-sis!))
Plenty of time for the Sunday shows to run with it, plenty of times for news rags to post it on their sites today.
