Many years ago, long before Sesame Street, I lived in Baltimore/DC area and Kermit was on the Parks Sausages weather forecast television show. It was a great idea and the right thing at the time. I think that really opened the eyes of a lot of people to what could be done with these characters. Loved it and used to tune in just to see the characters. Still think they are fabulous.
Absolutely agree. And not just for the slapsticky stuff. It's remarkable to me how well Henson was able to sing in his characters' voices...the duet between him as Rowlf and John Denver singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" should be standard listening from Thanksgiving through to New Year's.
