Alright, explain this one to me:
Social security recipients who, by and large AREN'T working get a COLA increase of 5.8% this year - the highest increase in 25 years.
Military personnel getting their asses shot up and working their tails off all over the world, and who are paying IN to Social Security, get an average raise of 3.9%.

Usually, when SS gets an increase, Medicare increases it's premiums to take up most of the increase. I work 40 hours a week, but draw a little SS check. For the 3 years I've been getting SS, I haven't seen a raise of more than a few dollars in my tiny check.

Remember that people getting SS have to pay for food and housing. Military members don't.
