Sunday Fiddle Blogging
Here's Scottish fiddler Sarah Jane with a hauntingly beautiful march.

Comments:
Am I counting tuning pegs right? Is that a hardaanger fiddle (or whatever the spelling is?) with a bunch of sympathetic resonant strings under the fingerboard?

Beautiful stuff. Thanks for the pointer.

Yeppers, that's a hardanger. I've never played one, though, so I don't know the details.

Oh my. She is phenomenal. Her music reminds me of John Tams' Napoleonic era folk tunes for the Sharpe's Rifles TV movies. Amazing.

Is she the same Sarah-Jane of this band? http://www.fribo.co.uk/front.html

If so, I'll probably buy one of their albums now.

This is Sarah-Jane Summers, the same one as plays in Fribo. She is, I believe, recording a solo album to be released this year. Can't wait to hear it.
