Self-parody, made flesh
As if to prove that a Democrat couldn't get a point if he sat on a bed of nails, the Huffington Post decides what's really important about the Clint Eastwood dramatization of the Battle of Iwo Jima, Flags of Our Fathers, is that they didn't include enough blacks in the movie.

His overall point (about the omission of blacks from popular entertainment about America's wars)was spot-on, but the militarily-knowledgeable commenters pretty much handed him his ass on the facts.
Like a guy I remember complaining that there were no blacks in Saving Private Ryan , he makes a point, but gets all his facts wrong - which ends up undermining any credibility his point may have had in the first place.

You know, sometimes I have to wonder how virtually ALL the prominent mouthpieces for the far left have so little historical knowledge. Moreover, they try to write articles as if they do have such knowledge and invariably look the fool.
Why do they do that? Are they really so dumb they can't see the wreck they're driving into? I have a hard time believing it, but it keeps happening again and again ad infinitum.
I actually had a fellow the other day try to claim that Nazi Germany posed a direct threat to the continental United States prior to our involvement, and THAT'S why FDR took us into WWII. . .rather than the threat and aggression Germany had demonstrated to our allies and trading partners. . .
He was trying to draw a direct contrast between our motivations at the outset of WWII, and at the outset of Gulf War II, but attempted it by drawing on the single aspect most similar between the two conflicts. I was mystified.

Uh yeah, and the minor matter that Hitler declared war on us.
