NY Times' Bill Borders responds re: Cpl Starr
The NY Times' Bill Borders has responded to this letter from me regarding Cpl Starr's final letter home.

No, that is not the policy I was trying to enunciate.

Rather, I said that we did not feel an obligation to quote everything said by someone. Obviously we would not distort what someone's position, about the war or anything else. And we did not distort Corporate Starr's point of view. We made it completely clear, I think, that he supported the war. And we also quoted his father as saying that, not only in the article but in the very large caption with the very large picture.

Thanks for asking.

What an idiot.
