LA Times columnist compares Republicans to North Korean government

I don't think CounterColumn actually read this article. It was not comparing Republicans to North Korean, but talking about the extreme tendency to isolation in Republican legislative circles, and solid factual examples were quoted. North Korea is a fair example to bring up in this context.

The means is to pass legislation primarily by unifying Republicans, thus shrinking opportunities for Democrats to exert influence. This approach represents the political equivalent to what the North Korean government calls Juche: a strategy of maximizing independence by minimizing dependence on outside forces."
