Colonel David Hackworth
Colonel David Hackworth passed away yesterday, at the age of 74.

I can't tell you how much I learned from him, and from some great leaders who themselves learned from him. He never stopped looking out for soldiers, and never stopped looking out for the Army, even while the Army as an institution wanted nothing to do with him.

He will be missed.

Jason

Comments:
His passing will be sorely felt as he was one of the leading voices in explaining military affairs to the civilian population; a service to the republic even beyond his already distinguished military career.

I'm sorry to hear about Hack. Although I frequently disagreed with him, I respected him. His voice will indeed be missed.

Damnit.
