Portrait of the Terrorist as a Young Man
The Scotsman is running a short profile of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Their breathtaking scoop:

The article gets better, though. They did some asking around in the area he grew up in in Jordan. The verdict: The guy's been a screaming narcissistic sociopath since he was a kid.
Turns out he was a journalist, too. Heh.
Apparently, his wife and children still live in the town he grew up in in Jordan.
I wonder why the Jordanians aren't holding her as a material witness?
Either that, or we need to give her a cell phone for Eid this year.

He is remembered in the town as an ill-educated, troubled youngster and a petty criminal. He is believed to have dropped out of school at 17 and, according to intelligence reports, was jailed for sexual assault.
