I'd vote against it.
It's a flag. Not a graven image. I'm a civil libertarian. Flag burning and desecration should be legal. In the long run, having the freedom to burn this nation's symbol actually makes us look good. Every time some moonbat burns a flag in the U.S. on TV and it gets shown overseas, we get shown to be a tolerant and democratic society.
Freedom of expression is more important to me than a piece of cloth.
I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution, not the flag.
Plus, it helps us reliably identify the idiot fringe.

ReplyDeleteIf we are stuck with a constitutional ammendment against flag burning I have a modest proposal for the punishment. Make the penalty for burning the flag a traffic ticket that covers the cost of maintaining an image archive of the perpetrators desecrating the flag. That way whenever a moonbat *coughKerrycough* runs for office, we can floogle them and see if they are on the national flag burner database.
Let the idiots take responsibility for their rights to free speech.

One of the better results I saw from my fasting experience was that I have more self control over my eating habits. I have always been a binge type of eater. After my fast, I felt like I could restrain myself easier. It is proberbly a mental attribute. I mean I can go without eating for 7 days then I sure can keep myself from eating something I shouldn't.
