Equal Time for Nutcases?
The Seattle Post Intelligencer grants op-ed space to more moonbattery:

# Two FBI agents approached attorney David Schippers with specific foreknowledge about the attacks. His repeated calls to Attorney General John Ashcroft were never returned. An article in New American on March 11, 2002, corroborated the agents' story. They claimed that knowledge of the plot was widespread within the FBI for months before 9/11.

The collapse of steel-frame buildings -- such as the World Trade Center Towers -- due to fire is unprecedented. The collapse of Building 7, which was not hit by a plane, is especially inexplicable. Its collapse late in the afternoon of Sept. 11 exhibited 10 specific features of a controlled demolition, as did the collapse of the Twin Towers. More important, numerous eyewitnesses attest to hearing multiple explosions at the time. And, Steven Jones, a professor at Brigham Young University, discovered Thermate, an incendiary compound, in two molten steel samples taken from the site.

Oh, and the Seattle P.I.'s headline? "Indications Add Up to Government Conspiracy."

No. The indications are that James Morgante, the author, like a certain commenter on this blog, has a big bowl of Whackies every morning for breakfast.

Michelle has much more,
and the editors of Popular Science lay waste to Morgante's dumbass theory.

Splash, out

Jason

Comments:
Jason, you really need to quit telling lies on your blog. You know, like the one about violence in Baghdad having dropped sharply in August. Or me being an "antisemite."

And you need to stop supporting lies, like the ABC mockumentary about 9/11 that has actors saying things that Clinton administration officials never said, in scenes that never happened.

You know, lyin' bastard fucktards and all that? Oh, and Israelis had advance knowledge of 9/11; continue to spy on the U.S., with the help of your friends at AIPAC; and had agents in Abu Ghraib while the torture was going on.

Holy crap Jason. You've got a real nutter in the comments section, eh?

(Pat Buchanan, is that you?)

And what about the Nutcase in Chief, who let Bin Laden go in late 2001:

On the videotape obtained by the CIA, bin Laden is seen confidently instructing his party how to dig holes in the ground to lie in undetected at night. A bomb dropped by a U.S. aircraft can be seen exploding in the distance. "We were there last night," bin Laden says without much concern in his voice. He was in or headed toward Pakistan, counterterrorism officials think.

That was December 2001. Only two months later, Bush decided to pull out most of the special operations troops and their CIA counterparts in the paramilitary division that were leading the hunt for bin Laden in Afghanistan to prepare for war in Iraq, said Flynt L. Leverett, then an expert on the Middle East at the National Security Council.

"I was appalled when I learned about it," said Leverett, who has become an outspoken critic of the administration's counterterrorism policy. "I don't know of anyone who thought it was a good idea. It's very likely that bin Laden would be dead or in American custody if we hadn't done that."

Hm, Whackies are my favorite snack:).

Conspiracy theories abound, as always, but this one is over the top.

Check out my posting on suicide bombers.

When you can't answer, then haul out the ad hominems like "antisemite" or "wacko." That doesn't change the facts.

Building 7 had several floors totally on fire. It had been hit by debris from both WTC towers and was heavily damaged.

And those who say steel-frame buildings can't collapse need to look up Chief Vincent Dunn of the FDNY. He wrote a damned good article on why they can and DID collapse on 9/11/01.

I can't believe this debate is still going on.

"And you need to stop supporting lies, like the ABC mockumentary about 9/11 that has actors saying things that Clinton administration officials never said, in scenes that never happened."

What? They weren't able to create a 100% accurate depiction of 8 years events and cram it into a few hours of programming? SHOCKING!!!! The scenes represent the reality that Clinton's administration missed opportunities to prevent 9/11. That's why it's a docudrama, not a documentary.

Incidentally, the same show does cite failures by the Bush administration too, but it's only you guys on the far wacko left who can't handle any implication that your man shared in the blame. Dissent is no longer allowed on the left. Ask Lieberman if you have any further questions.

Does this tinfoil hat make me look fat?

No, just f@cking crazy.

Get help.

I just finished watching ABC's mockumentary propaganda flick. I see they omitted Israeli foreknowledge. Israelis got the two-hour warning, but that wasn't mentioned.

Oh well, who cares about the truth? It is "antisemitic," right Jason?

No. Just you, dumbass.

So, Jason, which IDF unit did you say you were with, anyway?

p.s.: Hey liar, about your bullshit claim that Baghdad's violence was way down in August. You know, the claim you put on your website even though it was a lie? Yeah, that claim. Well this just in:

How to Reduce Violence: Ignore It!

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- The U.S. military did not count people killed by bombs, mortars, rockets or other mass attacks when it reported a dramatic drop in the number of murders in the Baghdad area last month, the U.S. command said Monday.

The decision to include only victims of drive-by shootings and those killed by torture and execution, usually at the hands of death squads, allowed U.S. officials to argue that a security crackdown that began in the capital August 7 had more than halved the city's murder rate.

But the types of slayings, including suicide bombings, that the U.S. excluded from the category of "murder" were not made explicit at the time. That led to confusion after Iraqi Health Ministry figures showed that 1,536 people died violently in and around Baghdad in August, nearly the same number as in July.

By the way, you ought to check out your Israel these days. No one there is buying our scumbag's line about them having won the Lebanon war that they started. Israel has thousands of people marching in their streets, among those thousands being military personnel.

They're protesting the leadership's incompetence. Here in the U.S., lying nutcases like you can't even bring yourself to tell the truth much less want to hold anyone to account. Liars rarely emerge from wars victorious, Jason.

Of course! The AP have NEVER posted an untruth. NEVER used doctored photos. NEVER expressed blatant bias. I can't believe I missed it all this time!

No matter how many times you call Jason a liar, the only person you'll convince is yourself. You offer no constructive commentary, only name calling.

What would you suggest to reduce violence in Iraq? Sing "Give Peace a Chance" while wearing flower wreath headbands maybe? Send a sternly worded "letter of concern"?

Figures on violence in Iraq are, and have been, as argumentative as stock market performance commentary.

You read what you want, those views that support what you already believe, and spout it as if it's gospel. It's not. You're confronted with information that disputes what you believe, so you rush off to find an article, ANY article, no matter what the source, to buoy up what you're already convinced is the truth.

You are the very definition of a troll, nothing more.

I suppose you believe the IDF deliberately hit that ambulance too, in spite of all the credible evidence to the contrary. Who is lying? Hezbollah? Almost certainly. AP/Reuters? Possibly, although more likely they are simply being mislead in their rush to beat each other to the headlines.

It was Jason who posted his big, fat lie about violent deaths in Baghdad being down by, what was it?, two-thirds or three-quarters?, in August. It was a big fat, wingnut lie. A lyin' bastard fucktard lie, if you will.

As for Israel and Hezbollah, I consider them mirror images of one another. Scorpions in a bottle, if you will. Their problem, not mine. Americans should not have our safety, future or national honor at stake for a 2,000-year-old tribal land feud between Jews and Muslims.

By the way, it's hard for me to blame Israel for twisting the U.S. around its little finger the way they have. Israel is a small, embattled population in a hostile sea. It's completely understandable that they'd do whatever they think is in their national interest.

I blame the U.S. for allowing this state of affairs to continue. I think the American public simply hasn't been paying attention. Until now, the "alliance" with Israel, which hasn't been an alliance as much as it's been a one-way affair, hasn't seemed costly.

The two parties and the U.S. media are in AIPAC's thrall, and have done everything possible to conceal the costs. But that's wearing thin. At the street level in the U.S. -- you know, private conversations -- the cost of the Israel "alliance" is sinking in.

The evangelical Christian nutcases are all for it because they think Israel's survival is key to their whacked-out End Times crap. But they're only about 15% of the public, and the other 85% is definitely starting to pay attention.

The media aren't reporting it, but the U.S. news media have always been laggards when it comes to picking up on big changes. You think I'm an antisemite? You haven't seen American antisemitism; I am familiar with the real thing, and what I've written here isn't even in the same universe.

"a 2,000-year-old tribal land feud between Jews and Muslims"

Wow. Sounds like you get your history from the same place you get your conspiracy theories. Just how many Muslims do you think were living in Palestine 2,000 years ago, genius?

Nanonymous - Not THAT Anonymous

And how many Jews were living in Palestine in 1800? In any case, NONE of the land claims have the slightest bit to do with American interests. None whatsoever. It makes absolutely no sense for the U.S. to risk so much as a broken fingernail to enforce or help enforce Israel's land claims against its neigbors, or vice-versa.

Israel is a modern, well-armed nation. They should be on their own.

And that goes double when you've got one side attacking us and the other side spying on us. Neither Israel nor the Arabs are doing us any favors worthy of mention. If we were to operate solely in U.S. self-interest we'd tilt toward the Arabs because we need the oil, but I think a far better policy the neutrality that George Washington called for in his Farewell Address.

Unfortunately, the U.S. policy in that part of the world is now dominated by a fifth column movement. I think that will come to an end, and that it will be an unhappy one for those who are involved in it.

And if Anonymous had a parrot at home, it'd sound like this:

"Awk! Wingnuts! AIPAC! AIPAC! Fifth column! Joooooooos! Awk!”

Seriously, though – he was almost making sense there for a while. I found myself in agreement with certain points...hmmm, that seems reasonable...completely understandable...Washington's Farewell Address, good...

IT’S A TRICK! DON’T FALL FOR IT!

God knows I’ve been trolled before. When they fail to provoke you insults and dismissal, they’ll pretend to ‘play nice’ just long enough to suck the unwary into, you know, a discussion – and then whack! - insults and dismissal. Off to the races!

“Lies, lies, lyin’ bastard fucktard, mockumentary propaganda flick, liar, liar, scumbag, liars; big fat, wingnut lie; lyin' bastard fucktard lie, evangelical Christian nutcases, End Times crap”: these are his true colors (and just from one short thread).

Want to know why Israel, Hezbollah, Hamas and all the rest of them are cut from the same cloth? Here's why. The United States shouldn't be tilting toward anyone in this matter, and sure as hell shouldn't be selling weapons to anyone. They're all sick bastards.

Wow, I can't believe Haaretz of all places repeats the same bullshit lies about Willie Pete that the MSM spread about US employment of WP in Iraq.

"Lyin' bastard fucktard" comes from Jason's postings on this website. Apparently you people can dish it out but you can't take it. Typical of bullies everywhere. Punch them in the nose they go screamin' to mama.

You people haven't engaged in a serious discussion at all. You're deathly afraid of it, because you know you have no facts to back you up.

Wow, I can't believe Haaretz of all places repeats the same bullshit lies about Willie Pete that the MSM spread about US employment of WP in Iraq.

Hey fucktard, the proof of U.S. war crimes came from the U.S. Army's own magazine, which gave the details confirming the reports from elsewhere. As for Israel, apparently some of them still realize that you'd beter face up to the truth or you won't survive for long.

Anonymous, you obviously have a fixation with Israel, and you blame them for 9/11. So why don't you enlist in Hezbollah, I hear they have a serious manpower shortage lately.

No fixation with Israel on my part, Jason and his amen chorus here is at least as pro-Israeli as they are pro-American, and greet any negative word about Israel with hysterical charges of antisemitism. The obsession is yours, not mine.

Oh, and it's a fact that Israelis got the two-hour warning on 9/11.

Call me a fucktard all you like.

But if you insult my readers your comments are gonna get quashed faster than you can deny the Holocaust.

"As for Israel and Hezbollah, I consider them mirror images of one another. Scorpions in a bottle, if you will."

Ah, moral equivalence! Let's see:
Hezbollah - Uses civilians as shields, stages bodies, deliberately targets civilians, wants to eliminate Israel

Israel - Doesn't use civilians as shields, doesn't stage bodies, doesn't deliberately target civilians, doesn't want to eliminate its neighbors

Not so much mirror images (which would imply imply some similarity) as they are opposites.

It is indeed possible to question Israel's relationship with the US without being anti-semitic. But it's pretty obvious to everyone (except maybe yourself) that it goes way beyond that with you.

Because of that, continuing to call Jason, or the rest of us, "lying liars", is pretty pointless. I'll be joining the rest of these guys now in discounting out-of-hand anything you say. I have yet to see anything written here by you that isn't tainted by hatred.

Actually, I can call names ("dish it out") with the best of them but it's not mature, polite or very constructive, especially when unprovoked.

Trolls aren't interested in discussions; they're interested in attention and provoking reactive, bad behavior in others. It's a games and it subscribes to some weird, narcissistic and nihilistic moral calculus along the lines of "if I can be break all your rules and push all your buttons until I provoke you to talk or act like like me, then you're no better than I am".

I understand that the anonymity of the 'Net removes a lot of the normal social feedback mechanisms that discourage bad behavior.

Still, it's hard for me to believe that any person of reasonable intelligence thinks that he/she does anything to advance an idea or futher a cause by repeatedly - and anonymously - insulting others.

It's also hard for me to believe that so many people have such a poisonous combination of poor social skills, disregard for other points of view and deep conviction about their own rightness.

So, there has to be another explanation. It's a game; and it's a game the typical, earnest commenter cannot win.

So don't play.

Jason - could you post some "house rules" about discussion on the home page (other than insulting other commenters and denying the Holocaust, I mean)?

And just for the record, the article in Military Review to which the anon troll so graciously referred did not prove that the US Army committed war crimes with the use of WP in Iraq.

"The collapse of steel-frame buildings -- such as the World Trade Center Towers -- due to fire is unprecedented."

Bulls**t

Any second year engineering or architecture student could tell you that fire can easily lead to the failure of a steel frame building. It happens all the time. Airliners that were hijacked by Islamic terrorists caused the destruction of the WTC towers and the damage to the Pentagon. The collapse to WTC 7 was due to fire and damage inflicted during the collapse of the Twin Towers.

Anybody who says differently doesn't know the facts, is full of it, or doesn't want to believe the truth because they can't handle it. Sounds like everyone's "favorite" anonymous troll fits all three categories.

I’m glad Jason decided to delay the posting of comments, because fools like this troll are what make it difficult to have an intelligent discussion or debate of real issues.

"It happens all the time?" Show me one instance of a steel frame building collapsing in a straight down demolition style from fire and I'll give you a gold medal. The facts are clear and the jury is in on 9/11- it was an inside job, rigged from start to finish by the covert government. Believe what you want but I'll have the last laugh when our freedoms are demolished and/or martial law is imposed after the next bullshit attack.
