Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) did something a little unusual yesterday. First he protested when Republican leadership scheduled his own bill for a vote.
Then he sent out a letter encouraging his Democratic colleagues to vote against it.
I guess that's what happens when you're a scheming, conniving, fundamentally unserious political opportunist incapable of rhetoric beyond high-school senate campaign silliness.
Nevertheless, the Democrats got their mileage out of it, already, thanks to their own willingness to wallow in intellectual dishonesty and the assistance of compliant, gullible press corps.
Via Baldilocks, who has some more great comments, including the identity of two finger-sniffers who actually voted FOR the draft bill.
