Sandy Berger Caught Stealing Classified Documents
AP) President Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy Berger, is the focus of a criminal investigation after removing highly classified terrorism documents and handwritten notes from a secure reading room during preparations for the Sept. 11 commission hearings, The Associated Press has learned.

Link.

There's no excuse for this, if true. Berger's been around the block a while and knows the rules. If he doesn't, they're posted in every classified document storage area I've ever been in. In fact, I'm responsible for a couple of classified document storage areas. And if I failed to ensure that the rules are clearly posted inside them, I'd get a little nastygram from the inspector general's office after the next command readiness inspection.

I can understand taking a few notes away. But if he actually pocketed the documents himself, that's just insane.

But why would he want them? He's not the National Security Advisor anymore. Why does he need access to them?

Well, because he's working for John Kerry, that's why.

The Clinton Administration sucked when it came to physical security.

Now we know why.

Splash, out
